Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Frantz, is a graduate of Central Michigan University and Ohio University college of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine and Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Florida. He served in the U. S. Navy for twenty years including deployment on the USS Acadia during Desert Storm/Shield. He was the Clinical Director and Senior Medical Officer of the Naval Branch Clinic, Dahlgren Virginia. He served overseas as the Department Head, Family Medicine at US Naval Hospital Guam. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of San Diego and Camp Pendleton California. He deployed in Operation Enduring Freedom as a concussion specialist and the head of the Concussion Center for the Marine Corps at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. He completed his naval career as the department head of Sports Medicine, Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.
He is Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He holds a Certificate of added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Frantz has a broad range of orthopedic and primary care experience and knowledge. A Family Medicine Physician at heart he enjoys providing care to all age groups for any muscle skeletal issue. Dr. Frantz has also been one of the leading military physicians on developing strategies for the treatment of concussions in our Country’s Warriors.
Dr. Frantz enjoys country living with his wife, Yana, and their 4 children. They live on a mini horse ranch in Hubert, near Jacksonville and Morehead City, North Carolina. Dr. Frantz has a passion for his faith, family, and serving others. He enjoys attending and covering local sporting events and has had the privilege of being Dad and coach for his children as they all participate in a wide array of sports here in Eastern North Carolina.
